What is Scientific Method?
The great and unshakeable fact about science is that it can be demonstrated. Science does not ask you to take things on faith or to believe something without evidence or reason.
In science, knowledge is real because it is gained systematically using logical, rigorous and testable principles and procedures. This is the scientific method. Data are collected by experiment and observation. Hypotheses are formulated from observations made and then rigorously attacked on every front before they are accepted to see if they really stand up.
A fact is not a fact just because someone says it is - that is an assertion. Scientists don’t take things on trust, but only when they are independently supported by replicable experiment and hard evidence.
